Since her visit to South Africa more than five years ago, Veronika Hertnagel has always been interested in knowing more about South Africa and also what she could do assist.  Early last month she heard of the Off-The-Beaten-Track Academy which was pioneered by Richard Mabaso few years ago whilst he was studying community development in one of SA’s universities.  Veronika then decided to host a fundraising party on the 3rd of March'10 and invited a few friends and family to raise funds.

She managed to raise just over ZAR5000.00 which will be used to support the recently developed OTBTA programme for the extended June/July school holidays.  This will enable 15 children from selected schools in rural communities an opportunity to visit the park, cinema and the beach during the holidays...  It only cost ZAR325.00 per child for the programme!

We invite anyone to contribute to help us reach more destitute children in rural communities during this period and beyond...

‘In a country that faces so many social ills, it is a privilege for communities to have such resilient and persistent people like Ntombemhlophe Myeni who stand up and be the agents of change in their own localities' said Imbumba Projects coordinator Richard Mabaso.
